HMS Hood Memorial Service 2007

The only living survivor of the Hood's sinking, Ted Briggs, read one of the prayers at this service.
Veterans who served on HMS Hood try to attend these yearly services but sadly, their numbers are dwindling.

Ted Briggs, was one of only three crew who survived the sinking of the Mighty Hood by Bismarck in May 1941

Commander AA Pearse gave the sermon, he had kept this on file for many years to be use in emergencies if a guest speaker could not attend one of the Hood services that he had been arranging for the last 13 years.   

After his sermon Camilla presented him with a gift and flowers for his wife as this is the last Hood service he is arranging. Nigel Henley will be taking over for the 2008 service.
