South Baddesley Women's Institute

November meeting
The South Baddesley WI met in Boldre Memorial Hall on 10th November and after a minute's silence to commemorate Armistice Day and also to remember Anne van Tijn a member who died recently, the President conducted the business of the day.  The recent coffee morning had been a great success and members had also enjoyed the Autumn Council meeting in Basingstoke.

The Secretary, Audrey Wills, outlined the programme for the first half of next year and reminded members that the subscription has been increased to £31.50, payable in January 2012.
The Lymington Group Carol Service will take place in Milford Church on December 5th at 2pm.
The Annual SBWI Xmas Lunch will be held at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club on a date in early December.
The Poetry Group will meet next at Shelbourne on Tuesday 15th November at 2.30pm.

There will be a ballot for the vouchers for courses at Denman, won by the craft group at the New Forest Show, and the winner will be announced at the Christmas meeting on December 8th. Members are asked to bring a plate of food and a small prize to that meeting as Bingo will be played!

The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs Judith Long, a Director of  the 'New Forest Marque', an organisation set up to safeguard the good name of the New Forest food producers. The logo may not be displayed without approval and inspectors check local pubs and restaurants to ensure the rules are followed.
Mrs Long gave a most enjoyable cookery demonstration of two quick supper dishes, two Christmas dishes and a useful sauce.  All were prepared and cooked on the spot and members were able to taste the delicious results. The vote of thanks was given by Bella Wilson and the meeting closed at 4.30pm.
