The Rt Revd Paul Butler discussing the order of service with Rev Camilla Walton  Prior to the first group Confirmation Service at St John the Baptist Church for almost twenty years.

This group Confirmation Service took place on Sunday 30th April 2006 at 10.30am.
The candidates, including both children and adults, were asked "Do you wish to be Baptised?" to which they all replied "I do."

They were then asked "Have you been baptised in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit?"
The candidates all replied "I have." The bishop then asked "Are you ready with your own mouth and from your own heart to affirm your faith in Jesus Christ?" They replied "I am."

After giving a lighted candle to each candidate the Bishop said. "God has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and has given us a place with the saints in light. You have received the light of Christ: walk in this light all the days of your life. Shine as a light in the world to the glory of God the Father.

after being confirmed the candidates went and shared the peace with members of the congregation.
