A most useful Parish Visitors business meeting was held on Wednesday March 6th.

Chris Butler agreed to work with Jo as co-ordinator for St. John's, identifying in particular the visits required in the Parish of Boldre. Previously Camilla, our Vicar notified Jo of the needs of the parishioners to be seen and with her departure a new system of working has to be found. Especially as this next year St. John's and St. Mary's will have different locum Vicars.

It was agreed that we needed to recruit more Parish Visitors! If anyone is interested please contact Jo or Chris. There will be another training course as soon as we have sufficient support.

NO MEETINGS AT PRESENT

Putting a smile on this ladies face was exactly the reason why one of our volunteer Church visitors had called in to see her.

Just one afternoon a week she knows  a Church visitor will arrive and spend an hour or two with her, chatting and sharing a pot of tea.

When your family have all moved away and your health means you don't get out very often, you can soon get very lonely and withdrawn. It seems even worse in the winter and some days its hardly worth getting out of bed, at least it's a bit warmer under the covers. This may sound like an extreme scenario but unfortunately, it's only too common today.

Have you ever considered becoming a Church Visitor? If you have a couple of hours a week you could spare, then that's all you need to put a smile on another face.

Our Authorised Parish Visitors are available to visit for a variety of reasons, these are just three examples:

Getting ready for Baptism.
Visiting housebound, elderly, or convalescing people.
Providing a listening ear after bereavement.

This is a completely confidential service run entirely by our team of trained volunteers.

All meetings will start at 7.15pm, coffee and tea will be available from 6.45. Anyone interested in becoming a Parish Visitor and would like to find out more about visiting, is very welcome to attend.

Mrs Jo Husband is the co-ordinator for the team of Parish Visitors and you should contact her if you would like a visit or know of someone in the parish who might benefit from this service.
