Your Church of England Wedding in the Benefice of Boldre and South Baddesley
This section of the Benefice web site is devoted to those contemplating marriage.
There is a wealth of information about the actual procedure along with many suggestions to make your day extra special. The first stage is to make contact the Church Office, to discuss your plans and to see what dates are currently available. The calendar page will provide an idea of what has already been booked but please remember, it may not be 100% accurate as others may have booked their wedding date since the page was last updated.
St John the Baptist and St Mary the Virgin can each provide an individual setting for wedding services. Blessings can also be performed at St Nicholas Chapel at Pilley
The more intimate atmosphere of St Nicolas Chapel at Pilley, is often preferred by those couples who wish to have their marriage blessed. Not suitable for weddings.
St Mary's Church at South Baddesley, a very gothic, elegant, building, offers a totally different setting with its high vaulted roof accentuating the length of the central isle. The main doorway at St Mary's has for many years, been the backdrop for many a bride and grooms wedding photographs.
The peaceful isolation of St Johns Church has made it a very popular choice for the weddings of parishioners who are lucky enough to have this beautiful church as their place of worship. This church also has the benefit of bells that can be included as part of your service.
