The next big event in the life of the parish is our Patronal Festival Evensong. The Preacher is Bishop David Jennings. He is now an Honorary Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Gloucester. Before this he was Suffragan Bishop of Warrington from 2000 until his retirement in 2009. In the 1970’s Bishop David was Vicar of Hythe and knew Boldre and our esteemed late Vicar John Heyter well.“.....an incredibly special man and we loved him to bits.” The Bishop’s wife Sally is the daughter of my father’s doctor and friend in Rhodesia, many years ago. Do come along. It should be a lovely service with splendid music.
